For a long time now, search engine optimization strategies have been considered the most important aspect for a business in order to be discovered online.

‍

But because AI has changed everything in our lives, why shouldn't it now change the SEO industry also? Instead of opening up a Google tab and looking through multiple search results, users are now able to ask their AI assistant questions and get answers in a matter of seconds.

‍

It is truly useful if you think about it, because people don’t spend so much time finding what they need, but that is also the problem. Marketers wonder what will happen if users stop clicking on different search results to find what they need.

‍

If you wondered if SEO is still worth it, the answer is clearly and simply yes, but with a twist of artificial intelligence.

Why do marketers think that SEO is dying?

Someone get a resuscitation kit, because marketing as we know it is slowly dying. But the good thing is that the SEO we know is changing, maybe into something better.

‍

Search engines are also adding AI-generated summaries and more conversational ways to find information, which can mean fewer clicks on traditional results.

‍

The real concern in this industry is focused on traffic and rankings, especially overall visibility.

‍

But there is an important difference between SEO becoming less useful and the way people search changing. People still turn to search engines when they want to research a product, compare options, find a local business, or dig deeper into a topic. The search experience is changing, not disappearing.

SEO is evolving

SEO has changed a lot over the years, and AI is simply the latest change. In the past, marketers focused heavily on adding keywords and getting as many links as possible.

‍

Search has also changed from desktop to mobile, and now it is becoming more conversational through AI. This does not mean SEO is going away. It means businesses need to think beyond simply appearing in Google's search results.

How AI can change search behaviour

Now users prefer to ask full questions instead of short keywords. Because AI assistants can understand better when users ask full questions, it seems that the marketing industry has migrated towards creating messages that can be the answer to these kinds of questions.

‍

People are also starting to expect more than a list of links. They want direct answers, personalized suggestions, and sources they can check themselves. For marketers, this means there is more to think about than targeting one keyword per page.

What will matter the most for SEO now?

  • Create useful content

‍

This is important because it must focus on providing an answer to users' questions. It seems that we no longer need to just add keywords on a webpage.

‍

  • Show real experience

‍

The best content is the one that shows personal examples. Try to offer valuable knowledge to make the website stand out from generic AI content.

‍

  • Keep your technical SEO at a healthy score

‍

Your website still needs to be easy to crawl, fast, well-organized, and easy for search engines to understand.

‍

  • Build a great brand

‍

A recognizable brand and a strong online presence can help you stay visible beyond individual keyword rankings.

So, as final thoughts, we know that AI is making the content creation faster, but it doesn’t totally replace a good SEO marketing strategy. Everyone has access to the same AI tools, but not everyone can make a great brand only with AI tools. It needs human input and great research about the target audience so it can solve real needs and problems.

‍

The only great advice for marketers is to still make content for what people actually need to know, and use real experience that AI can’t copy.

‍

Even more so, a strong website that ranks in the top search results is more valuable for users compared to generic content that does not offer valuable information to users.

AI should be treated as another tool in the SEO process, not a replacement for the people behind it.
