Your brand is important. Regardless of the size of your company or if you are just starting out or not, your branding will matter in the overall dynamic. Especially when you are trying to build and develop your company, branding can make the difference between failing and succeeding.

Strong branding can encourage your users or possible clients to gain more trust in your products or services. So, you can start finding inspiration in branding examples and see how you can get the best out of it.

What is Branding?

Put simply, branding is the process where a presence is created for a brand. Its identity and any detail that sets your brand apart from any other competitors or companies from the market. Branding, as its root, is formed out of the brand’s name, logo, mission, values, tone of voice, and visual identity. However, this is not all that defines your brand. You also need to pay attention to the quality that makes your brand unique or distinctive. Customer service, user experience, your brand promotion, and even your pricing strategy play important roles in your branding.

Branding and effective branding are not accidental. It is a process that takes time and consists of many decisions that you need to stick to. Think about choosing the primary color for your brand identity, you can not simply change the color when users are just getting familiar with your brand image and visual elements. Your brand needs commitment and so does your branding strategy.

Yet you should not forget about your clients, customers, or users and their needs. Effective branding combines both vision and customer needs in order to thrive. Your targeted audience should always be your circling back point. Your brand and branding are more than aesthetically pleasing outcomes. So try to provide the quality of your products and services and how can your clients benefit from your services or products.

Branding vs Marketing

Now that we established what branding is, let’s see the difference between branding and marketing. Marketing campaigns leverage branding elements and use your brand identity and voice to make your products and services stand out. The difference between marketing and branding is that brand marketing strategies can and are adapted to different trends, events, and the responses we get from our audience. However, your branding strategy does not change simultaneously with any trend that might arise overnight. It should be consistent and remembered by your clients. Marketing and branding both have the purpose of making your brand noticed and helping you succeed.

Branding Tips:

  • A good brand always puts your customer needs first. Finding out what your users need will help you deliver the best products and services. This will also help you communicate the right advantages and keep you on the right track.
  • All your visual elements should respect the same standards and share the same message. You can not use a logo for your product and another logo for your website. Or, you can not have different primary colors for your products. Consistency is an important trait that your branding and advertising should accomplish.
  • Register a trademark in order to protect your brand.

Types of Branding Elements:

  • Visual Identity – The first thing we might remember about a brand is its visual identity. Elements such as the logo, color palettes used, typefaces, and any other visual elements can help users remember you and your brand.
  • Design – A  brand’s design is also important. The brand’s design showcases the details of the web and app design, picking, the product's look, and even the real-life layout.
  • Design Consistency – Consistency is important in any domain. We need consistency in design in order to create familiarity and an intuitive approach to our products or services. So, keep in mind a design that is consistent and recognizable.
  • Colors – Colors are a syringe attribute that a brand can have. Depending on the color used in a design we can convey a certain message and associate our brand with that specific color meaning. Think about red and how it exudes boldness. Or about yellow and how it gives off creativity and happiness.
  • Element Integration – Integrating your elements harmoniously can lead to a powerful brand promotion. Using the right elements and combining them together is a must-have for your branding. Think about your visual identity, your brand design, and the colors that you have chosen – all of those can lead to your brand message. So, keep in mind what you want to give off when creating your brand book.
